Rikke Jorgensen is a marketing consultant and writer with a background in high-end advertising. In her fifteen-year career, she has worked for clients like Panasonic, Cable & Wireless, University of California San Francisco, Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, and The San Francisco SPCA, to name a few.
Bitten by the story bug early in life, Rikke beat out her first novel, a 21-page Black Stallion knockoff, on her mother’s typewriter at the age of seven. It had a print run of four and was well received.
Unraveling the anatomy—and magic—of stories has been a passion ever since, from exploring Arthurian themes in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks in her master’s thesis to working on story-centered ad campaigns. Her own writing appears in anthologies about travel, culture, and business, and has been published in national newspapers and magazines.
Through Metaphorial, Rikke consults on story-based communications and marketing, and writes origin stories, case studies, feature articles, staff profiles, blog posts, and all manner of Web copy. She holds a Master’s Degree in English and Communications, and has won awards for both business and non-business writing.
Rikke is a member of the American Marketing Association, the International Association of Business Communicators, the Society for Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators, and the Storytelling Association of California. She lives in San Francisco.
